Does the 2003 Toyota Prius have a gps installed into the dash?

I am thinking of getting the 2003 Toyota Prius and wondering if it has a gps navigation system installed in the dashboard.

Some do and some don't. All have the buttons, but unless you can press the button and the GPS comes up, then that particular car doesn't. If the car you're thinking of purchasing doesn't have it, it's almost impossible to add a factory one because the wiring harness is different, so the cost becomes prohibitive.

They seem to be a relatively rare accessory in the first generation (2001-2003). As JerryJ points out it is not practical to retrofit the factory GPS but is practical to adapt other devices.

I don't have one but I have heard a lot of dissatisfaction (or at least disappointment) with the built-in system. The performance is decent enough and the in-dash display is nice, but changes can't normally be entered while moving, even by the passenger. Update discs are expensive ($250, the last I heard). Aftermarket GPS units are not as beautifully integrated but you can choose the features you want and passengers can look for gas stations and restaurants while driving.
