Default Has anyone owned a late model Toyota Avalon?
I'm thinking of buying a 2009 Avalon and I welcome any opinions on this model. Thanks.

They're very solid cars, probably the most SOLID car Toyota builds, as its their 'flagship' model.































Yes, there are more things to go wrong, but they see by FAR the least amount of mechanical and electrical 'woes'. basically Camry technology and power under there. The V6 is an excellent motor, timing chain on that one, no need to check/replace a belt.































You'll be impressed... not a very exciting car, but great for long distance cruising.

Unbelievable engine flaws in these. Be very cautious here. All Toyotas between the years 2000 and 2012-- when the new models come out, are riddled with mechanical, and electronic flaws, including over acceleration, malfunctioning electronic transmissions, brakes, chipping paint, and a host of other issues...they look nice though if you don't mind buying a car with all that bad stuff in it. I have had 3 in the fleet I maintain. The only Service Bulletins I have seen is for a small oil line on the top of the engine and the gas padal issue.































Both should have been taken care of already if the car was ever taken to a dealer for servicing.































If you gas pedal is made my Denso your golden, but if it's made by CTS (an American supplier) demand it gets replaced. CTS is the company that caused all the bad media for Toyota.
