Help! 2003 Toyota Echo sunroof wont operate. My first car, and doesn't have an owners manual?

Okay, so i got this car two days ago, used. and the sunroof was working fine. And then yesterday, I tried to close it. Okay, so if you dont know, its got five buttons. '1' opens it all the way. '2' shuts it but lifts up the back. 'C' is supposed to seal the window, and release the "slider" i guess you would call it, so i can slide it close so you see no window. But thats where it is broken. It will close the window, but wont release the slider. i can pull the slider with force, but it stops about an inche before shut all the way, then after i do that if i hit '2' the window will crack but the slider wont slide open like it is supposed to, i have to pull it. Any idea what to do? there's also an open and close button that allows you to close it however far you wish if thats of any importance.

I dont want to take it in, because my mom bought it for me, and i'd feel bad for her having to spend more money

and i dont have a job so i couldnt pay for it
