Problem with a Toyota Avensis D4D T4 cutting out?

Default Problem with a Toyota Avensis D4D T4 cutting out?
My husbands 2006 Avensis has started playing up, when you slow down or stop it cuts out.















Was in the garage 2 days last week they changed the fuel pipe and filter, it was OK for one day but problems back again. They admitted they didn't know if they had solved the problem.















Has anyone else either had a similar problem or is a Toyota mechanic and can help.















The diagonistic computer showed nothing, but they know the problem is there

Take to Toyota it needs checking on the computer set up .Good luck

This is a common problem with Toyota.































Check the fuel pump and strainer filter on the fuel pump.

'The Raven' is correct. This problem seems to occur in a number of Toyota models a couple of years old.















Friends of mine had to have theirs towed in a few times, but Toyota claimed there was nothing wrong, even though it was cutting out. They came to call their car the 'Towyota", and traded it in for a non-Toyota after a couple of frustrating years.















I wonder if this will turn out to be yet another instance of Toyota covering up a known defect?
