Should I get a salvage title 2010 Toyota Camry?

I want to buy a 2010 Toyota Camry LE but it has a prior salvage title i'm not sure if it has a clean title yet, should I get it, it's worth $20,000 for only $14,600. The only thing that needs work is the front bumper needs painted.

If you pay $14,600 you are getting ripped off. Salvage titles automatically drop the value by about 50% compared to a non salvaged vehicle in the same condition. Since this hasn't even been fixed yet its worth even less. They also aren't going to total out a brand new car for a bumper. Its got more damage than that.

a car gets a salvage title when the cost of repairs is more than the market value of the car

if its worth 20k undamaged and their asking 14k something?s not right !!!

And it would have to of had extensive damage to total a 1 year old car!

Salvage tittle itself means the car repair cost exceeds the cars total value. So if the cars really worth 20k grand there must be some major damage thats worth around 10 grand or more. Any newer car in the salvage has major problems if they rather not repair it.

Dont get this car unless you want a headach and hugh bills on your hands, plus the minute it becomes yours the price will drop to around 50% and youll end up having a unsellable car in your hands.

If you do get a car salvage your best deals are to get a slightly older one not a brand new one. Older cars end up in salvage due to the age value and repair cost most of the time. Also beware cars that have been flooded also end up in salvages.

If that was all that was wrong with it, it wouldn't have a salvage title. It's had major damage - at least in the insurer's opinion. You would want a complete check-out by a qualified mechanic before buying this. It's the old adage, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't.

I work at a local Auto Auction and on dealer days when they come and look and buy cars and etc. If they see a salvage title. They will not buy it unless they can get a really good deal.

No way !!!!

It already the lowest quality vehicle on God's green earth and the salvage title makes it even worse.
