Default Do you guys think this is a good car?
I am 20 years old and have been driving for about three years. I have been driving my parent's car, but I feel like it's time to get one o my own. I was thinking something along the lines of:

I really think I will be happy with an MR2 as my first car, what do you think?

well like with any car have it inspected by a mechanic BEFORE u put any money down.......















































** also since ur only 20 have to add that all insurance companies will consider that a sports car and will make ur insurance higher than say a sedan...

An MR2 would most likely be a great car to own depending on its condition. Some folks have been known to treat them rough.































Look at Consumer Reports' annual auto issue (find it at the library) and see what is available and recommended within your price range. You may very well be able to get a nicer and safer car with lower mileage for the same money.































The other comment has merit concerning insurance. Before you buy, ask your agent what the insurance will cost you for this model and any others you might be considering.

It's a Toyota so NO it isn't a good car.

That is a very good car. Make sure you blue book it and ask for any maintenance records. The mileage is high, especially for a "garage kept" car. I would put the stock wheels back on. Those big rims have too much rotational mass, and the car doesn't have the torque to overcome it. I bet those T-tops do leak. they garage the car, but I bet if you leave it outside in the rain, they WILL leak. It shouldn't be too much of a hassle, though. Price seems a little high for a non-turbo

a mr2 for a first car is not a smart move,they are great cars but expensive to fix and not practical
