1) Turn the key to the "on" position (so the odometer can be read)
2) push the "trip/odometer" button until it reads "trip A"
3) turn the key "off"
4) with your left hand, push and hold the "trip/odometer" button
5) with your right hand, turn the ignition key back "on"
you will see a series of about 5 dashes that will be flashing and each second one of the dashes will disappear. when they are gone, the "maint" lamp will go out.
