A tow prep package usually consists of A. transmission cooler ( a little radiator for transmission fluid ) B. a hitch and trailer light plug installed. C. there should be contained in the glove box a pigtail with a plug. This is for a brake Controller when you attach the pig tail to the control wiring all you do is plug in the control under the dash. Somtimes tow packages have other eenhancementsas well, like heavier shocks, or suspension. Check you VIN number if your truck has a factory package it will show in the VIN. some dealers add hitches etc. and call it a tow package...Be aware it is not always bad, but have the proper factory add one's for cooling is the most inportant part....cooling is key to not overdoing anything. Stop in at a local RV store if you have one in your are you will get impartial help they know what to look for to help you and they have books with VIN codes to check against....Good luck
