Default What do you think about a 1997 Toyota Corolla?
I saw one for sale that I might consider buying, but I've never owned a Corolla. What do you think of the 1997 model Corolla?

Corollas are generally very reliable and get decent mileage. Get a mechanic to check it out, and if the price is good, you could do a lot worse. They aren't flashy, but they are decent reliable transportation.

They were peppy and reliable, but not for very tall people. Usually they will soldier on for 200,000 miles, but not without reasonable care. You should have it checked over. Up to 150,000 miles, if there are no leaks, offer $2000 cash. Make certain the cam belt has no more than 60,000 miles on it. Changing them is a real pain in the fundament.

Decent no frills car. Make sure it has been maintained. It'll get you to point A to B fine, but don't expect excitement out of it.

Reliable. But SOME have a 3rd cylinder problem in the 1.8L. This is rare and the only complaint I've ever heard...besides it boring looking
