Default Where can I locate the antenna on my car remote?
Hi any engineers out there! I'm trying to locate the antenna on my car remote chip so i can solder a wire to it to increase the range of my remote. Right now the range of the remote is about 20 feet, so you can see my problem. I have changed the batteries but that did not help at all. I'm not sure which part i should solder it to. Thanks in advance.

It belongs to a Toyota Corolla 1999. If that makes any difference.

Soldering on more Wire is not going to help if you can't add more power to the Antenna.































Honestly you would be better off spending $100 on an Aftermarket Alarm.

The antenna is the dead end trace coming off of the crystal oscillator labeled X1 but that isn't all there is to it. The other side of it is the negative battery terminal so you would have to extend both and form a dipole to do any good. The operating frequency of most RKE systems is 312 or 315 MHz
