How to do a left reverse around a corner in 3dr toyota Yaris?

Hi,

Can anyone give my any tips on how to do a left reverse around a corner in a toyota yaris? Im doing my driving test in my car, and unlike in my instructors car, I can not seem to do this manoeuvre in my Yaris. The rear window is quite high, so I can not see the kerb in the corner of the window to use as a reference point as a point of turn. Any tips would be great! Driving test in 2 weeks, and instructor not available, hence doing it in my car (booked a cancellation after failing my first test).

keep practising, and perhaps you can put a small marker on your rear screen to help you get it right, good luck.

If you are allowed to adjust your outside mirror, do so. Put it as far down as yuou can. What you want to see is the left rear wheel.

Once you do this, remember that the pivot point of a car in reverse is just slightly in front of the rear wheels,

When you start, just let your foot off of the brake. Don't use the accelerator. Let the idle of the cars engine do the moving. This gives you ever so much more control. No accelerator but keep your foot ready to use the brake if the car starts going a bit fast.

You won't get any more points for doing this maneuver quickly. So,,,,take your time.

Get used to using your side view mirrors to supplement your restricted view out the window plus use your short-term memory. Think about what it there as you drive and obscure different perspectives. That is one heck of a tough manouver. They don't make you do this in california. That manouver should be illegal because it is particularly hazardous.
