Toyota Obsession has a point, plus has your system been converted over to R134 refrigerant? Your car originally came with R12 and if it hasn't been converted over, it won't matter if you did know where the fittings are to charge your system. You are probably using a can of R134. If your system runs R12, you can't use that can without retrofitting your A/C. The fittings to charge your A/C are different as a safety measure. That way, you can't mess up the system by adding the wrong refrigerant. Your car has an in line 6 engine so the compressor will be near the front of your engine since it runs off of one of your belts. You will see the metal lines running to and from it. That is your compressor. I haven't seen a 5MGE engine in years so I don't remember if it's on the right or left front of your engine. Anyway, the fitting to charge your system will be on one of the metal lines leaving the compressor. My advice? Spend the $100 at a shop to get it retrofitted and charged. They will check the system for leaks as well (also included in the price). Good luck
