Well it'll tell you in the service manual or owners handbook when it should be changed so without seeing it i couldnt possibly give you an accurate mileage but around 50,000 to 70,000 would probably be somewhere around the right sort of interval

Every 50,000 miles but it will cost more than a Toyota is worth.

MY HILUX HAS AN INDICATOR LIGHT. IT LIGHTS UP WHEN THE TIMING BELT IS DUE TO BE CHANGE. THE LAST TIME IT LIGHTS UP WHEN THE ODOMETER REACHES 65,OOOKM.

it will depend what model hilux you our and what diesel is fitted if it is part of the Lseries diesel i.e 2L 3L OR 5L then its should be changed at 10000.00 klms it you have k z series i.e 1kz or 1kzdte or any of the 2.8 or 3 ltr series then 15000.00 klms under normal driving conditons servere cond the 10000.00 klm.s

The Hilux 1989-1997 2.8 Diesel suggests a timing belt change every 100,000KM.































An indicator light will come on to tell you it is ready for a change.































You can reset the indicator light through a small button under the speedo sheild.
