Can't open my 2004 Prius with fob OR mechanical key. Help?

Default Can't open my 2004 Prius with fob OR mechanical key. Help?
The car is not responding to anything- no lights, no beeps, no alarm. This is true when I try pressing buttons on the fob, pressing the buttons on the car doors, or using the mechanical key in the driver's side door. Every other scenario I've read online says that even if the battery is dead the door should open with the mechanical key, but that's not working for me.

The mechanical is is purely mechanical, so the only reason it wouldn't work would be if the key was incorrectly cut in the first place, or perhaps this is a replacement fob and the mechanical key was never altered to fit the lock. Have you ever previously tried the mechanical key?































Try the mechanical key on the second fob that came with your car.































Otherwise, you'll need a locksmith to open the door.
