89 Supra Rebuild Motor Swap?

Default 89 Supra Rebuild Motor Swap?
I am in the midst of rebuilding a 89 Supra. In terms of compatibility bolt on/direct swap with ecu and harness. Which would be the simpler to go for a 1JZTTE or 7MGTE. I have done a little research power wise it actually seems as though the single turbo in the 3.0L would be more capable than the twin turbo 2.5. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.















Also, would the 7MGE tranny be compatible with the 7MGTE tranny ( 5 speed ) this information I am unable to find anywhere (

I believe the 7MGTE and the 7MGE both used the same 5 Speed transmission.































Well the 7MGTE would be simpler to put in, simply because it actually came in that Car. But the 1JZ will outpower the 7MGTE easily.































If you spend the same money you'll end up with more power out of the 1JZ. The 1JZ has a larger aftermarket following, but the 7MGTE is an awesome motor with a pretty dedicated following itself.































So it's all about what you want to do. Either way is a good choice.
