You should be getting around 30 MPG around town. That is the basic model- and the most economical. Now that one is older so I'm thinking 25mpg worst-case scenario, but still closer to 30 mpg if you don't abuse it. On the Highway, you could get 38- 40 mpg. Those are solid, reliable cars and I've seen a few with over 400,000 miles on them. If anyone tells you they are discontinued, tell them that they are wrong. It was redesigned and called the Echo. Now in it's current iteration, it is the Yaris. BTW, it still uses a 1.5 liter engine- just with many upgrades.
