Default I have a 96 Avalon the car runs good but I notice the fans were not working... is this
something to be worried? I have been driving the care for about a month now and never really notice that the fans were not working. Today it rain and I don't know if it was the rain or the car that was smoking but the temp. was normal and I really did not drive far so, I drove back home less that 2 miles to wait for someone to come and look at the car. I pray the fans work when the car heats up to temp.

I don't think it's such a big deal, considering your car is 14 years old. I would have it checked out just so it doesn't become a big problem.

The engine cooling fan only comes on when needed, it is thermostatically controlled. I drove a car an entire year with no fan at all just being careful to watch the engine temp.
