Smartkey not opening/locking doors on prius?

Default Smartkey not opening/locking doors on prius?
I am having this trouble with my prius, is a 2007 and it has never EVER gave me any problems, my smartkey is not opening or locking my car, I have to use the little key attached to it for my doors, BUT my car does start when the main key is inserted.....???































Is this going to cost me an arm and a leg to fix?

The main key starts the car, but doesn't operate the doors. Hmm.































I would think that the key's computer coding is fine (or the ignition wouldn't work).































Somehow there must be a signal loss between your doors and the computer code device (I suspect either a bad wire, dirt, or corrosion on that connection).

You might stop buy your local dealer and tell them your problem and i am sure they can help you out.

The first thing to do is to make sure the SS/SE button is in the ON position. This button is located on the lower dash to the right of the steering column. It can be turned off by mistake, and is the usual cause of the Smart Start/Smart Entry system not working.































The second most likely cause is the battery in the fob.

your remote is low on battery. or have a dead battery















press open and close and look at the red light. can you see it? dim? no?















recommend replace and recheck. cheap.































yif you have a small screw driver you can do it yourself.















unlock it pull key out. while you holding the unlock, slide the back side off. there you should see 4 tiny screws. remove it and take out battery and go to walgreens and match and replace.
