could be a bunch of things
1) If u hear a buzzing sound when turning the key on (not trying to start it) your fuel pump is working.
2) U can disconnect a fuel line to see if u got fuel flowing (put a empty bottle on the line so u don't spray it all over) also look at the gasoline that's coming out if it feels greasy u got Diesel. if it drys your hand when u Touch it is gasoline. (i've gotten so many cars with no starts 'cause the owner put diesel on the car on a non diesel engine by mistake.)
3) Disconnect a spark plug wire and take out a spark plug connected both and hold it, ground it to the engine or the ground terminal on the battery if it reaches and have someone crank it if u get a spark the distributor is good, cable is good,etc..
if u got no spark either the Crank Shaft Position Sensor is no good (this is really an important sensor)
or the distributor is in-opp.
4) Also double check the spark plug wires are in the correct firing order on the distributor (if u did a recent tune-up) wired.
5) If all that is good check for vacuum leaks. Also i would do a compression test on the engine. if u get more than one weak cylinder the engine won't start
