Can i have a locksmith duplicate my lockbox key or do I need to get it from the companyh?

Default Can i have a locksmith duplicate my lockbox key or do I need to get it from the companyh?
I lost my lockbox key and my mom has the original other one. My mom wants to bring that to the locksmith to get it duplicated just in case I lose it again and I was wondering if I can go to the locksmith and make the duplicates or do I need to go to the company? Thanks.

If it has ( DO NOT DUPLICATE) imprinted on it you need to get it from the Manufacture. If not bring it to a lock shop it shouldn't be more than a few dollars.

It depends on what kind of "lock box" it is. It also depends on what kind of locksmith you take it to. The whole "do not duplicate" thing is debatable. In most states its not against the law to duplicate keys that say "do not duplicate". Check around talk to some ALOA (Associated Locksmiths of America) certified locksmiths and see what they say. Every key is able to be duplicated it just depends on who you ask.
