toyota 22re how to set timing with out timing light.?
kay so here is the deal i got all my sensors working properly i know where the terminals are to short the timing ya de yade yada. i can only do it by ear. i simply rotate the distributor till it runs smoothly and at a fast idle then i set it and turn the idle down. now if i were to jump the connector and it drops my idle how far would i have to move the distributor and which way do i turn it if looking at distibutor from driver side of car under the hood radiator is on my left brake booster on my right. right now its splits the difference of the swing of the distributor. i dont have a timing light i have to take a trip tmr and when im just coasting at 65 it gets great MPG but as soon as i lay into it to get up a hill it dosent have the RPMS to get me going faster and gets rotten gas mileage but it does have the initial torque.
