Make sure the engine is on top dead center for cylinder number one before taking anything apart. Watch the rotor as you put the new distributor in place. It should go to the exact position as the old one. It will rotate as it drops all the way seated. Compensate for this. The online manual should show you how to do this. If not, get a better maual, like a Chiltons you can hold in your hand while you work. Final tune of the engine must be done with the engine at operating temperature. Yes it does.
