Default toyota lucida oil sump HELP!?
oki well my dad has just brought a toyota lucida less than 24 hours ago we was driving over a speed bump less than 10kph and we heard a horrible grinding noise now the oil sump is torn (like a tin opener went on the corner of it) we managed to get it home but it it p**sing out oil when its in park and the engine wont turn over or even start when in park but in nutural it starts fine its a toyota estima lucida 2.2 td automatic k reg so i think its 93 it is an import i need to know if we can patch it or will we have to buy a new oil sump if so how much ? and where from? please help this is very urgent

You definitely need a new sump.















Try Toyota dealers, but also search on ebay and / or salvage yards.































Do not try to start it until it has the correct amount of oil in it again, the engine will be wrecked within seconds if you run it without oil!































That's why it is not a good idea to try a DIY repair, if it fails it will destroy the engine.































The only other possibility, if it is not too badly damaged, if it a local auto engineer can take it off and weld it up.































The oil pickup pipe needs checking while the sump is off to ensure it's not got bent or cracked.
