Default 1996 Toyota 4runner antenna?
I currently have a 1996 toyota 4runner and I am so tired of every time I turn on the radio the antenna goes up and down. I realize that is the design toyota made but I am getting so annoyed with it. Over the 7 years of owning the vehicle I have had to replace the antenna mast twice. I was wondering if anyone out there knew if I could just put a normal antenna on the 4runner. If so..do you have a website I could purchase the antenna off of? Please help!

If you want reception on the radio, the antenna needs to be up. If you don't want to pick up anything but that preacher on the strongest radio statio, unplug the antenna raising motor's power wire. Yes you can put an aftermarket antenna on in place. Maybe it would be better to not do the thing that causes the antenna to need replacing. Turn off the radio before you go in the automatic car wash.

Yeah go down to your local Auto Parts store.































They sell them there.
