It doesn't have a trunk, but it does lack some room in the back that other more "civilized" SUV's have.
You have to remember the main purpose of the FJ is for offroading. It was never designed as something to drive around town all the time.
That being said, I'm sure the MPG rates of 17/21 means it's just unquenchable as a V10 Dually right?
As far as handling worse than a Wrangler. That would be true if maybe both of them had Solid Front Axles, but since the FJ has a Independent Front Suspension it's actually impossible to have worse handling than the Wrangler. You would literally have to go out of your way and take out the shocks to get worse handling.
It does have some visibility issues but all of the FJ owners I meet out on the Trails don't seem to have a problem with it.
