Default Do toyota rav4's from 1996-2000 still run well?
I can't afford a new car anyway and I like this model range, but I'm not finding many for sale. Does that mean they don't last well or what?

Not necessarily. Toyota has a reputation for good build quality. I don't see many on the road today, meaning that not many people bought it (at least in my area). If not, then they probably would not want to sell theirs! My family has had a Toyota with 200k miles, and it's near perfect.

It just means that people who bought them aren't selling them because they last forever.
