Default is there an alarm system on my 2011 toyota tacoma?
Hi, I'm trying to install a remote start system on my truck but I cant find the factory alarm system wires. I don't have a diagram for a 2011 because there isn't one available yet. I don't know if my truck even has an alarm system. On the key fob, there is a panic button.. would this be considered the alarm? If so, if anyone knows exactly where (in the kick panel) the factory alarm wires are, pleeease fill me in.















(PS. If I lock the doors with the fob, and then try to open the door, or unlock it with the key, no alarm goes off)

u have a cheap simple factory alarm. no motion sensors like aftermarket ones, like viper. U have to break a window (I believe that still sets the afactory alarms off) or open the trunk or door forcibly. factory alarms suck I know. Installing a remote system can be challenging. I suggest u start googling forums where people have done this and follow the similar steps. For my cars I could easily jump on my honda club online forums and ask or search for the steps and somebody out there has done it and described the process. Hell, to fix my brakes and change my radio I even found pictures with step by step instructions and wiring diagrams.
