Default Upgrades for Toyota Tacoma?
Looking to do some upgrades to my 2006 2wd 4 cylinder (i know thats despicable) Toyota Tacoma Access cab. Im not looking to do anything with the suspension or chassis. Basically i wanna try and get a little more horse power outta her and a little better noise. Hey maybe even improved MPG!!! lol so yeah if you know anything cool i could do to it let me know. O yeah apparently theres some kinda kit that will double the horse power on it???? how much would that run me? ok thanks!!















ok buddy i wasnt looking for a "BUY AN AMERICAN VEHICLE" personally i've had my fair share of fords and chevy's and they never seemed to last When i bought a corolla years back i took terrible care of it and it lasted me a shit load of miles so yeah i've stuck with toyota since then. BTW the tacoma is made in america so its kinda an american car

HUGE upgrade, sell the toyota before the defect causes it to "MOVE FORWARD" honestly, that is such an ironic motto!!

start by going online and looking for tacoma or toyota forums. many abound.















consider:















cold air intake, or short ram intake















new plugs, denso iridium















under drive pulley































it's a 2006, proper maintenance is all u can do to lower mpg short of modding suspension- dropping, lower center of gravity and new rims, wheels.















and it's an automatic with a truck tranny. don't expect miracles

Nothing wrong with the 4 Cylinder! It's a stout little motor that will last forever.































There's probably Turbo Kits for it. But doubling the HP would require a complete motor teardown and rebuild. You would need ARP Head Studs, new Crank, Pistons, Connecting Rods, etc.































It would cost you a pretty penny to do all that, then Turbo it.































But if you google around I'm sure you can find a Turbo kit in the range of $3,000-$5000 that will give you a nice boost without needing a rebuild.
