Lifetime of a Toyota Rav4?

Default Lifetime of a Toyota Rav4?
I'm looking to buy a Toyota Rav4, and I will probably buy one with about 100,000 miles on it. My budget is around 5,000. Would it be a good buy to get a Rav4 with that many miles on it or should I look elsewhere?

When dealing with a car that old/high mileage you will have to budget money for repairs regardless. IF you are buying it outright, no loan, then you are probably in good shape. The Rav4 has been a VERY reliable vehicle. FWD models are better than AWD, but not by much. I would not be afraid to buy the vehicle.

No it would not be a wise move considering the horrific quality defects reported on all toyota models. Almost any model would be better than a Toyota. Good luck. there are some good cars out there for $5000, but Toyota isn't one of them sorry.

If you keep up the basic maintenance, forever.















My Uncle in CA bought a RAV4 the second year they were made.















He is now a youthful 81...and swears it's the best...most reliable vehicle he's ever owned















It has 136.000 on it.















He says change the oil every 6 to8.000 miles (3000)is too often and make sure you















keep the lubrication schedule and clean air filter. He doesn't drive on dusty or rought terrain.















He says Toyota makes the best engines ever made.
