My 1985 MR2 fuel pump isn't getting power. Does anyone know where the relay/solenoid is?

I've checked all relays and fuses I can find but I still can't find anything that is bad. It cranks and turns over, even has a full tank of new gas. I've been able to start the car with ether and it'll run that way but when I hit the gas pedal it will die. I've replaced the fuel filter too and it's not pumping fuel either. I've actually checked the wire harness for the pump at the plug but it's not getting any power. Who knows where the relay/solenoid is? Can anyone else think of why it's not starting or where the power for the pump is?

I would suspect a problem with the wire from the relay. Trace it back from the pump to the next plug or connection and check for voltage. I think you will find a bad connection.

It is also possible that your pump has failed and shorted out. Does the pump run if you apply voltage to the plug on the tank? Pump failure can actually melt the wiring and cause a short or blow the main fusible link.

The relay itself is in the fuse panel under the hood and the circuit is very basic. You should check the primary side of the relay to make sure it has 12 volts and that it properly grounds the relay through the computer when the ignition is turned on.
