Default Is there a computer chip in the 1991 toyota camry?
Does it make it easier/harder to hotwire the car? (don't worry, I'm not planning on stealing one... I'm writing a book!) Any information on the '91 Camry would be helpful, eg: gas mileage, tank capacity, etc.

As far as built-in security, the 1991 Camry had no special key for the ignition but of course it had the locking steering column that had become standard by that time. It is vulnerable to all the usual ways of stealing a car, with one of the most popular ones being a dent puller (slide hammer) to pull the key cylinder out of the ignition, then using a screwdriver to turn it on as though the key was being turned.
