The Firewall is the structure of your car that seperates the passenger compartment
from the engine compartment. Your steering column, break pedal, or
any wiring that must be connected to the engine or battery passes through holes
cut into the metal firewall. It's covered with insulation that helps block out engine noise.
If you raise your hood, it's the metal back of your engine compartment.
If you have to pass wires through, you should be able to fine enough space where
wires are already running through holes from your interior to the engine compartment.
