Our Toyotas have taken projected rocks & stones as well but luckily we carry Full Comprehensive Coverage and pay no deductible. In your situation based on past experience of what my auto insurance companies (USAA and GEICO) have done when I called in to report windshield damage is they first send out auto glass mobile unit and technician applies special compound to damage hole that (i) prevents further spreading and for us, actually took care of repair that surprisingly made pinhole almost disappear. (ii) FYI insurance company more or less guaranteed this type of repair where if it didn't work or got worse said that they would replace windshield at no extra charge. You did not say where you live but in cases where pinhole spread into crack that went across windshield, FYI it happens normally in the winter from cold outside temperature and then defrost or hot air warming windshield.
Bottomline in your situaton it can't hurt to look in the yellow pages and check out auto glass shop bec if it's beyond repair, a legitimate business should tell you so...
Hope the Above Info Helps!
