Default Toyota Solara Convertible Engine Problems?...or any other problems?
I am getting a 2004 Solara Convertible SE....3.3 L engine... V6 and I've heard sludge forms in the engine......Have you encountered any other problems with a Solara?

The pcv (pollution control valve) blew on mine...so did the struts which are generally know to have defects in many Toyotas...although Toyota denies this, like everything else. The door handel busted off too, and the paint was the cheapest paint job I ever saw in my life. The car paint chipped if you breath on it. Solara was a junk car. Also Toyota charges much higher priced to service all their cars because they think they are better than everyone else. LOL! And it GOBBLES gas too! Good luck!

Congrats on the new Car! You'll love it! It's very sporty and fun to drive.































The sludge rumors you have heard about are simply false. Many people have tried to make the claim that sludge forms in these engines. But the problem is that an Engine can't cause sludge to form. It's the oil that you are putting into the engine that will determine if sludge will form or not.































So as long as you use high quality oil you'll be fine. That doesn't mean you have to use the most expensive, or Synthetic either. Just a good quality oil.































Overall the Solara gets high marks for reliability and many people like it's styling.































Don't worry those engines go for 400,000+ miles without a problem.































Unless of course you don't take care of it. In which case like any Car it will break down.
