There are two batteries in the Prius. The small 12V battery allows the Prius to throw the relays to engage the traction battery. I'm assuming you have some problem:
1. If you put the key in, turn it, and nothing happens, then the 12V battery is at fault. You can jump start the Prius if this is the case.
2. If you put the key in, turn it, and it doesn't behave correctly, then the the 12V battery may be weak.
3. The traction battery seldom has a problem, but when it does the Prius won't run. You'll need to get the codes to find out why.
With no symptoms it's hard to do anything more than just guess.
