How can I keep a 2007 Prius charged when I Go Out of Town for Extended Period?
My 2007 Prius died when I left it for 3 weeks. I would like to find something I can plug into cigaertte lighter to jump it or something solar to keep regular battery charged. The battery is not under the hood as the previously resolved Yahoo answer indicated, but it is in an awkward to get at place in back. If the car is locked, you have to crawl in because the back door won't open when the battery is dead.

. I will add that the lighter sockets are disconnected when the car is powered off (unless you install a mod) so they won't help. Also turn off the SKS (smart key) via the button/switch at the bottom of the dash under the steering column if your car has that option as it will reduce 12V battery drain and/or make the float charger's job easier. Make sure you push the correct button as the other one resets the TPMS.
