that is one of toyota better engine it has been documented to hit 300,000 miles with no problems, and for what it is, its a good strong little bugger when you wind it up, if it were to have one weak link, it is the head gasket , a lot of times oil starts leaking down the middle of the block on one or both sides, and if you dont catch the oil loss in time you lunch the motor, generally the head cracks first, then the oil leak, so once the leak starts, its best to do the head, but 22r have been taken apart at 300,000 miles, and you could still see the machining on the steel sleeves where the pistons sit, so keep er tuned up and hang on for the ride its good for another 100,000 miles if you change the oil and tune it up.
