The odometer is the numeric display that shows how many miles the car has travelled.

Tells you how many miles or kilometers a car has been driven.































But not all of them are trustworthy.































Toyota uses fast spinning odometers as a tool to fool their owners in to believing their cars last longer. If a Toyota has an ODO that reads 300,000 miles, its actual mileage is just 44,503 miles... And that's about the time most Toyotas will die.

don't trust american car's odometers though. ford and gm make them turn faster than normal so it looks like it's travelled further without problems. a gm odometer that reads 300k miles it really more like 50k miles. they just try to trick you into thinking your car lasts longer than it really does.

Don't trust Japanese car's odometers though. Toyota and Lexus make them turn faster than normal so it looks like it's travelled further without problems. A Toyota odometer that reads 300k miles is really more like 50k miles. they just try to trick you into thinking your car lasts longer than it really does.
