Default 1988 toyota pickup starting problem?
i have a 88 toyota pickup 22r 4 cyl 4 wheel drive well i was going down a dirt road the other day and i came to a corner and i drove off in some ruts well i hit them pretty hard and the vehicle stalled and wouldnt start back up well i un hooked the gas line that runs into my fuel filter and it wasnt pumping gas to the filter so first thing that came to mind was bad fuel pump well i dont want to put a new fuel pump in if thats not the problem i am tryin to find out if the impact could have messed anything up that would make it not send fuel i know on my last truck it has a fuse for the fuel pump but this is my first toyota if it has a fuse where would it be located and if it is the fuel pump what would be the easiet was to gain access to it any help is appriciated thank you

First of all you say no fuel coming to the filter. Are you running the starter while checking for fuel? Just turning the key "on" doesnt start the fuel pump. The starter has to be engaged then the pump runs. If the engine starts then a circuit on the airflow meter keeps the fuel pump on. I would be more suspicious of a wiring problem - a connector jaring loose or something.
