Default Where is the silencer on a 2009 corolla and how do I remove it?
2009 toyota corolla... my dad said to remove the silencer on it... but I have NO CLUE where it is and/or how to remove it... lol... not sure why he wants it off but oh wel... I just need to know where and how, I know it is stupid but I gotta do wat he said so watever

It is integrated in the exhaust, and you cannot separate it from the exhaust system. You cannot also remove it unless you want to keep the car in the garage forever. It is illegal to remove it and drive the car in the US and Canada.

Your exhaust system is what silences your engine. Emission control systems are very complex involving many parts (regulated by feds, states and cities in your engine, the catalytic converter and the baffling in your muffler. Your Toyota must have a muffler that meets certain specs. I would have your father go to a Toyota Service Manager and tell him exactly what he has in mind. TRD the aftermarket Toyota division makes performance exhaust and you can request the level ( to a point) .But there are strict laws concerning noise restrictions on vehicles and violation of these laws means a ticket and a very hefty fine.

You can't just take it off, you can't drive the car without one, he's winding you up. The only time you remove one is to replace it with another, and then you take to an an exhaust place, for them to do it.















By the way, it the long box running along under your car, lie down and have a look.

A silncer is on a gun. your car is not a gun. therefore it ust not have a silencer.
