Default Changing a toyota landcruiser prado 3 ltr diesel automatic 98' to four wheel drive?
I have both gear sticks, but unsure where to put secondary 4x4 gear stick and what gear to put it into in the automatic transmission.















have no handbook as it is a Japanese import

If you are on the road the 4x4 stick should go in 4H and use the other one as normal. When you take it out of 4 wheel drive, drive it backwards for a couple of yards to let the front hubs disengage again

Hi,put the second lever into 4 hi. Use the other gear shift normally. 4 low is really only for low speeds if and when you get really stuck. You'd also probably then need to select either the number 2 or 1 position on the normal gear shift. One word of warning when you get onto a good road surface be careful what speed your car can be driven at in 4 wheel drive as this can do damage to the 4 wheel drive transfer box.
