1995 Toyota Camry power window issues- I need help diagnosing the problem...?

Default 1995 Toyota Camry power window issues- I need help diagnosing the problem...?
Okay, I am having issues with my drivers side power window- it is not working. I have pretty much ruled out the fuse and wiring issues because I know it is getting power. I removed the inner door panel and see that the motor gets hot but does not turn over at all while i am pressing the up and down switch.































With the little experience I have- I have narrowed it down to 2 things: either the window rail (or something like that) is jammed OR the motor is bad, but I don't know if it could be bad and still suck power because I would think that the coil would burn and not draw any power at all.































With all that in mind- It appears that the issue is the rail or something else hindering the window from going down. I have had this issue in the past and i would hit the window down and it worked.































Please let me know how I can Diagnose this issue and any pointers in fixing it would help a lot Thank you sooooo much for reading and trying to help.

Since you have it down between either the motor or the railing, disconnect the motor from the railing and see if the motor will work when it is not under a load. If it works, then I would suspect the railing. Also, with the motor disconnected the window should be able to be raised and lowered by hand. If not, then you know the railing is binding.

I would be willing to bet it is the motor, There is a thermal switch inside the motor that when bad will open and cause the motor not to work.















IF you are getting power and ground to the motor then you have a motor issue.

could be the master switch. mine went bad, and the left two wouldn't work but the right two did. replaced the switch; everything is gravy.
