Default The timing belt broke on my 1994 Toyota Corolla at highway speed. Are the valves likely to be bent?
I was driving on the freeway & the car suddenly lost power. When I try to start the car it sounds like it's turning but won't start

Yes, I would think that the free spinning RPM would bend some valves. Run a compression check on each cylinder as a first step but I'll bet your going to need a complete valve job. The good side of this however is that your crappy Toyota transmission hasn't failed as yet. Something to look forward to. You could just save a lot of grief and buy a Civic.

No you are good, the motor is a noninterference motor.















It wont hit the valves, I have replaced many belts that have broken while driving.

Chad F is right - non-interference. Put a new belt on it and go. Cheap lesson this time....

u bent them in the 2nd try to ignition ...buy 2nd hand motor is better for you
