does a toyota 100k mile bumper to bumper new car warranty cover catalytic convertors?
I have 94k miles on my 2005 toy tacoma and the dealership says that Zurich will cover several other items, but not the (tested bad) catalytic converters because they are "really expensive". I bought it brand new with an 84 mo/100k mi bumper to bumper warranty. (Wow I'm doing neither of those again! Service is like pulling teeth from hens!) But anyway... is there a loophole they are using that I'm not seeing?
Toyota never honors their warranties, not even on new cars. My brand new (at the time) Toyota Solara SLE developed bad front struts in just 4000 miles on it. It was brand new. toyota refused to cover the struts saying it was my fault for driving bad roads ( all my city roads are very good and smooth). Never trust Toyota. I dumped the pile of sh-t and bought a reliable Ford. And guess what? Ford actually fixes your car if something goes wrong and does not blame the defect on you. Good luck. With a horrible company like Toyota, you'll need it. You have my sympathy.
All Toyota service centers/dealers are not created equal. Expense is why you bought the extended warranty to begin with, read the fine print in your contract before calling your attorney and don't let these b*s*t*rds rip you off. If taken to task they will cover this item. It's that the stealership's general manager's annual bonus is contingent upon keeping the operating costs low and parts inventory charged to warranty repairs cuts into that.
im sorry to say but dealers will usually find ways to say its ur fault, improper owner care, driving habits, etc. they come up with bogus excuses so they dont have to pay since the dealership loses money on warranty repairs..
