Default 2001 celica lacks power?
Hey guys, I have a problem with a friends car. She owns a 2001 celica. i own and constantly work on an eclipse, so I dont know much about the toyotas. Perhaps if I show you the problems description she sent me, someone might be able to point me in the right direction..thanks!

i have a toyota celica and i'm used to it being slow as molasses during the winter but lately its been taking forever to go into overdrive once i start it.















it will literally run at 3000 rpm when i'm only going 30 miles an hour. i mean i know it takes a min for a car to warm up and stuff but this kinda happens from the time i start my car in my driveway to till the time i get half way to crackerbarrel. which is about ten min away.















i'm thinkin its transmission?















and i the right side of my car makes a weird ticking nose whenever i drive and then stops when i stop. might be the wheels or something under the car.

Cars wont go into over drive until its fully warmed up. The faster the car warms up the better it is for the engine and emissions. About 5 minutes sounds about normal.

if its especially cold it takes longer to warm up etc etc. check your transmission While Its Running. could be very low which can cause stumbling gear changes. but it is more than likely just cold air

Yes it tends to slow down esp in winder.
