www.kbb.com and put used car, model /year and mileage and fair to bad condition and see what it comes out.

A dealer would probably offer you $1000 to $2000, but would reduce whatever other rebates or incentives they would normally have offered. In the end, you probably will not receive any real compensation for it, although it will show up on your paperwork. They probably won't even try to repair it, most likely it will be auctioned off with the other unsellable stuff they take for trade-ins.

If they offer you $1000 it would be a good offer. You can also try selling it for parts or engine only for a better deal.
