I understand in this economy its important to budget for all vehicle maintenance, however one thing you don't want is a cheap job done on changing the water pump and timing belt.
While you might find an alternative water pump at a lower price remember that dealers have direct access to original parts at a better than retail price. You are better off calling a few Toyota dealers up and negotiating a good price instead of buying the parts yourself. The timing belt itself is fairly cheap, its the labor that is expensive
