High reeving engine Model d22 pickup?

Default High reeving engine Model d22 pickup?
PLease can any body tell me why my engine in my D22 Nissan pickup suddenly starts to rev up to approx 3000 rpm at any time this has been going on for the last year for no apparent reason it can last for several minutes and nobody has been able to solve this problem HELP!!!! thank-you

Can often be caused by an air leak in the inlet system - maybe a vacuum pipe, or a leaking manifold gasket. Can also be minor things like a sticky throttle cable, or a missing throttle spring.
