i got a ticket today for an altered muffler/exhaust for $116.00!?

Default i got a ticket today for an altered muffler/exhaust for $116.00!?
i bought the car like this from a used car dealership over a year ago; never been pulled over for it or informed there was any law against it! i am still making payments on my car as well.















if i take this to court, would it be worth it and do i have a chance of winning? any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

yeah you should win in court. that's a plain stupid "law" anyways. what do they do with loud sports cars?

I presume the basis of the ticket was excessive noise caused by the modification. That is your responsibility - to ensure the car is compliant with the laws.































If you get the exhaust brought to standards by the court date and appear at arraignment to plead guilty, you can make a statement that you have corrected the problem (and bring receipts with you). You may get off with a suspended fine.

The ticket price is calculated so that you will pay and not make the effort to fight.Ticket attorneys charge $116 so if the fine is waved you still owe $116 to somebody else.This concept is called sublitigious,the cost of the damage is below the price to litigate.People with loud mufflers also street race.

a lot of states prohibit that now,doesnt matter if you got the car like that or not,if it's too loud,it's too loud.you were just lucky up till now.
