Default I also have a 1985 Toyota Celica GT and I just replaced both the head gasket & the thermostat.?
But my car keeps overheating. What can I do to check to see why the car is still overheating??

How about the radiator ??? It's probably never been cleaned out - there are shops that can clean it out, or you may need to replace it if it is "clogged' to the point where the water will not flow thru it

My Toyota Dealer is running a special on a complete cooling system drain















and replacement of coolant plus inspection on related items (water pump, radiator)















for $49. It might be good to take advantage of this christmas special. When















they drain your coolant and inspect, I bet they locate your problem.















It could be your water pump. Every repair I've had Toyota perform, I explain















my limited income, and have gotten as much as 50% off price.















Establish a good relationship with a Toyota Dealer. They see you as a















future customer. Get to know the Service and Parts Mgr by name.

Are you leaking coolant/low on coolant? - Find the leak, fix it, add coolant.































No leaks and steady coolant level? - Water pump, radiator/hoses clogged, thermostat is defective (your water pump does not have to be leaking to be bad by the way).































No leaks but still loosing coolant? - Head gasket improperly installed, head not torqued correctly, cracked/warped head or block
